Voting day. Who the parties are, what they want, who pays, and what MPs billed us.
This site keeps changing
We read the news, party policies, and public records several times a day.
That is how every page here is put together.

Your vote counts
Use it. Under MMP the party vote still counts, even in a safe seat. Two ticks: party, then local MP.
Enrol first. National, ACT and NZ First changed the law. You cannot enrol at a voting place this time. Last day: midnight Sunday 25 October. Miss it and you cannot vote.
The Commission's roll as at 30 September had 62 percent of 18 to 24-year-olds enrolled. On 29 September the Commission said about 91 percent of eligible people were enrolled. About one in ten eligible people are still not enrolled. Almost two in five young people are still not enrolled.
How to enrol
- You must be 18, a citizen, or a resident who has lived here for 12 months at some point.
- Enrol or update at vote.nz. Use a NZ driver licence, NZ passport, or RealMe.
- Or call 0800 36 76 56. Or text your name and address to 3676. Both are free.
- EasyVote cards are going out from 14 October to people enrolled by 4 October. Email if the Commission has one, otherwise by post. Enrol after 4 October and you cast a special vote, which takes longer. Last day is midnight Sunday 25 October.
- If you have moved, update your address.
How to vote
